The VersaBlast machine adheres to the wall by the vacuum generated from the dust collector and by a magnetic drive
assembly. The magnet is held slightly off the wall by two traction drive wheels which are powered by a variable speed
DC drive. The roof fixture, powered by a variable speed DC drive, supports a twin cable hoist which raises and
lowers the unit as it moves along the wall. The fixture and machine move horizontally along the tank leaving a 20"
wide cleaned path. At the end of each 70' long pass, the hoist lowers the machine 18" and the travel direction is
reversed. All operations are controlled from a hand-held wireless remote control.

What about cleaning speeds and operating costs? A typical 120' diameter by 40' high tank would take approximately 2
to 3 days to complete the exterior wall and 2 days to clean and paint the roof. During this process a 55 gallon drum of
shot would be required ($850). Often the customers power can be used, however, if power is not available, a 75KW
generator is rented for around $600. The machine is operated by one man, so labor cost is minimal. There is no
clean-up since the paint and dust will be automatically contained in approximately 2 to 3 drums for easy disposal.
There are no emissions from the VersaBlast system. Blast cleaning is conducted in business centers and residential areas.
The conversion to the floor mode takes less than an hour. The unit can blast going forward or reverse, eliminating
the need to turn around at the end of each pass.
The only blast machine that is operated by wireless remote control.
The VersaBlast Dust Collector automatically deposits dust into a 55gal. drum. There are no dust pans to shovel out or dump- just
lower the drum to the floor, pull the collector away, cap the filled drum, and install an empty drum.
To blast clean the roof of dome roof tanks, the hoist is mounted on the center stand pipe and the VersaBlast is
lowered down the roof as it makes circular paths around the tank.
The VersaBlast is also used to remove non-skid coatings from ships and ferry boats.
Special fixtures are used for ship hull cleaning.
This fixture allows the VersaBlast to clean internal walls of floating roof petrochemical tanks.
This simple fixture allows the VersaBlast to clean any tank with wind girders.
Here the C-Frame is used to clean below the tank stairway.
The VersaBlast is so versatile that it can clean over rivets and splice plates.
On knuckle roof tanks, the hoist unit is attached out further on the fixture beams. This allows the wheels
ride on the flat area of the roof. A counter weight is added on the back to offset the machine weight.
The VersaBlast can also blast clean the internal floor and walls of tanks.
The VersaBlast is also used to clean plate, structural steel and pipe.
This pipe cleaning attachment is for in plant stationary use. We also have portable pipe cleaning attachments.
